Florida’s Daytona Beach is readying for the 25th Anniversary (dubbed the “Chrome anniversary”) of Biketoberfest®, an annual event held each fall. The 2017 dates are October 19 – 22 and the area is expecting some 150,000 riders, visitors and tourists from all around the world. Daytona Beach Biketoberfest® is a popular four-day motorcycle rally open to all.
Commemorative mementos will be available from the Official Biketoberfest® Welcome Center on Beach Street the 19th – 22nd (while supplies last). Items the staff will be giving out include FREE 25th Anniversary posters, pocket guides and pins encouraging visitors to mark where they are from on world maps.
“We have a core audience that’s been attending this event since the start,” said Lori Campbell Baker, executive director of the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), “and it’s not uncommon to see Brazil, Canada, Germany and the UK pinned on the maps. It’s amazing to see the international crowd this rally draws, as well as the increase in women riders and sportbikes over the years, and the youth drawn to the rally’s signature racing events at Daytona International Speedway.”
The official kickoff will be Thursday, October 19, at 10 a.m. at the Daytona International Speedway in the form of a public press conference on the Harley-Davidson Thunder Alley Stage. This stage is next to the FPL Solar Pavilion in the Midway where lots of Biketoberfest® activity takes place. Please note the rally tradition will continue through Daytona Beach along Main Street, Riverfront Park and Midtown as well as Destination Daytona and US1 in Ormond Beach, and in closeby communities of New Smyrna Beach and DeLand.
