Royal Caribbean Cruise Line seems to always be at the forefront of innovation in the cruise industry. This year the global cruise line adds the world’s newest, most technologically advanced ship on the water in the Anthem of the Seas. Recently, the ship hosted a fabulous naming ceremony led by Godmother Emma Wilby, who took the stage with the Welsh choir Only Boys Aloud in the performance of her lifetime. A British travel agent, Wilby was selected for the honor in a travel agents singing competition.
Anthem of the Seas is setting sail as the world’s most revolutionary cruise ship with cutting-edge innovations in ship design, new activities, tech-savvy additions, multidimensional entertainment and flexible dining options. She spans an impressive 18 decks, encompasses 167,800 gross registered tons, hauls 4,180 guests at double occupancy in some 2,090 staterooms. Initially, Anthem of the Seas will sail out of Southampton, U.K. for her inaugural season before departing for New York Harbor and her homeport of Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, N.J.
